The ProMod GTO begins the final journey to become race ready. The fabrication is complete and it is now ready for chassis paint and final assembly to begin.

Test Fit of MR-1 Billet Engine

Pontiac MR-1 Billet Engine goes in for the test fit and first time.

Space is at a premium under the hood of the 65.

Custom fuel cell and electronic mounts. Every detail has to be carefully thought out and planned so it all fits in a neat and orderly manner. The Dillinger ProCars guys are experts at this.

Magneto, oil pump and fuel pump (not shown) all have to fit with clearance. A little more room would have been great.

The body has been on and off many times during the course of the construction of the

ProMod GTO. This is the final installation and attachment.

After the countless times the rear end was in and out of the car for test fitting, the sheet metal rear end assembly is in the car for the final time. Four link bars installed, wishbone and anti roll ready to connect. Coil over shocks look good in place. The third member is installed and ready for the drive shaft. Carbon fiber wheel tubs are final installed as well as the tin and carbon panels. A few more small things to connect and install and the big Hoosiers will go on to cover it all up--seems to nice to hide.

Fitting and fabricating the Zoomies. These are 2 1/2" stainless steel pipe custom fit to allow clearance for the body, tire turning radius, door swing, Dzus fastening the body in place, pyrometers, oil line and steering column. Welding is still to be completed along with a few other minor details--but soon these pipes will be tempered with the remnants of burnt methanol.
