NEW PROJECTS

Mellott Racing continues to be involved in traditional Pontiac powered racing. We continue to blend the nostalgic style in traditional Pontiac power with modern technology which is evident in our current "under construction" Pro Mod. After this new project is complete, you will have an opportunity to examine it more closely at a future racing event. Upon this examination. you will discover a cutting edge significantly advanced race car under the classic, but highly modified, 1965 Pontiac GTO body. The car and chassis are being constructed to handle all the power we can throw at it --can you say Pontiac Powered Nitro Coupe --at this point we aren't ruling out anything. We hope to have this car finished in late 2008 and ready to test over the winter. If everything falls into place we will be ready for the 2009 racing season challenges.

The firebird funny car is a really nice car and will handles the power fine, but it is not a 65 GTO. The 65 GTO has always been the car of Bill’s dreams. Almost 40 years ago he was drawn to this car and there is no other car that captivates him like the 1965 Pontiac GTO. Then it only stands to reason and should be of no surprise that he would go back to his roots, the car that started it all, only this time he will go all the way.
